Warstride Challenges Review (Ampjet)

TL:DR - Doom (music), Quake (movement), Trackmania (time trials), and Super Meat Boy (platforming) had a super baby and its name is Warstride Challenges. World leader boards and lots of content for $20, but if unsure, buy on sale. Worth the price.
Warstride Challenges is a high octane, skill based, time trial shooter that boomers and speed runners alike will love. Mashing together the movement of Quake 3 (with crouch sliding added), the music of Doom 2016, the platforming of Super Meat Boy, the time trials of Trackmania - you get Warstride. And while that sounds like smashing together a mouthful of influences and hoping for the best, it works.
The game starts you up with easy levels and works you up to significantly more difficult ones. Fast and fluid movement mechanics take time to get the hang of and mastering one level will take a whole lot of smashing that quick reset button because the game can be quite difficult. However, at your disposal are a host of familiar weapons as well as special abilities like slowing time or crushing your enemies. Equip your favorites and compete against yourself, friends, and even a world leader board to snatch the best run times possible.
Warstride boasts over 108 levels, live multiplayer, and a map editor. And this was in early access, so they will have more content now. The game is not lacking content for its $20 price point. Plus there is a demo to try, so try it!
Graphically it runs smoothly on my older rig (1080ti) and I recommend this game to shooter fans looking to test their abilities of flicks, movement, and FPS mechanics.
