Vertigo 2: Into the Aether Review (Puma)
was super excited rewatching old vertigo videos anticipating trying this out, and wanted to get back into the game to maybe get all achievements, and try custom levels. but playing the dlc has just completely changed my mind/mood. initially left the difficulty on hard from when i last played but later lowered it..
the first boss i encountered was a bit annoying to fight, especially with barely being able to use the shotgun bc of the bosses close range attacks, and the smg felt like it did no damage (tho it's a rly cool sounding and looking gun), and ran out of ammo with it, so i was just playing a waiting game trying to shoot it with a shotgun till i got more ammo.
now the 2nd boss is where i've just given up, still only having the same two weapons that dont feel effective at all, and a boss with the most annoying attacks ever.. i assume the game wants you to constantly have your teleport ready? but it's godawful to keep holding my stick down, while trying to move around at the same time. and the boss's attacks sometimes give little to no indication on what its gonna do next, so it might be behind a wall, and do a sword throw, but with 0 sound cue, it just peers over, and unless i have unbelievably good reaction time while having a teleport ready, im dead... im sure if i played the boss completely differently, and just sat there standing still with a teleport ready, holding trackpad instead to dodge attacks that way will make me complete it, but i dont want to do that.. i wanna be able to walk around, and fight the boss that way, since its way more enjoyable to me, but i felt punished for trying.... another complaint is getting respawned 10-15 seconds away from the start of the fight, dying dozens of times is just so infuriating.. maybe im just not that good at vertigo 2, or need to get used to it after not playing for so long, but getting hard stuck on a boss even after turning down the difficult has just made me done with this, and im not happy about quitting this..
