I absolutely love the setting. The void is just so fun it's like an alien world, definitely something I enjoy seeing in VR. And I must say I was not expecting a horror game but this DLC was spooky. Sometimes horror in VR is almost too easy. Put me in a room with some flesh creatures and a bony fleshy skeleton and I'm so spooked I can not aim properly. And the humor was on point. The second boss was a little frustrating but fun. This DLC got me frustrated but I kept coming back.
All in all it was fantastic however it has room for improvement. I have a few points.
1. It is hard as nails but that could be because I got a glitch where you do not get the Annihilator Prototype gun (this was fixed very soon after release so it's not too bad) but also the timing on the Void Deflector is insanely tight and without visual indicators on the final boss it gets frustrating fast however that fight became fun even tho I had to try like 40 times. Also the beginning enemies before you get powerful are bullet sponges imo.
2. I found the grapple hook to be really annoying because it was really hard to aim, especially at any speed, however the goated dev fixed a lot of my issues soon after release so it was not too bad.
3. Half of this DLC is metroidvania so if you do not like backtracking and non linear progression this might not be for you.
All and all I would recommend but be prepared for a hard and scarry DLC in the style of metroidvania about 5.6 hours long.
And I just wanted to say to the dev thank you for the Vertigo games & DLC I love VR but its still very early so there are not many games, on flatscreen you have thousands of legendary games to pick from but VR right now gets a good game every other year and the Vertigo games are safe and not super revolutionary but they are just good ol fun and thank you for that. Also this review looks like a hamburger lol.
