Vertigo 2: Into the Aether Review (Drunkchey)
levels are cool, the new gun is neat but good lord did I want to kill myself by the end of it. I can't tell if the grapple gun is just shit or if I'm having a skill issue but either way after a couple hours I still couldn't even begin to get shit done with it.
Streamed the whole thing on twitch, beat it in one go (i was planning to do half, it was just shorter than expected)
The DLC is also not very long, its 3 levels.
An opening section
A really fucking long labyrinth of a level where you gradually unlock abilities and the such so you can go beat the shit out of a biblically accurate angel, which was cool at first and I do genuinely like it artistically.
Also a viewer told me that apparently I was supposed to have a shotgun, I didn't get it. real as fuck but tbh i dont think it would've changed my experience much.
The story dialogue and writing is same as base game, pretty good and quite funny as well. Only reason I even bothered finishing this (alongside the fact I was live, wanted to at least complete 1 level lmao).
all in all I'm kinda divided on it, I reckon if you can actually use the grappling hook and parry thing its probably pretty fun but it just gave me suicidal tendencies.
Did ignite the urge to play the game again though, think I'm finally gonna 100% the normal one.
