TheHunter: Call of the Wild - German Shorthaired Pointer Review (Digger)

There is absolutely no reason for your dog to be running 300m ahead of you to bark at an animal in the way that large game pointing is handled in this DLC. This is literally a behaviour you need to train out of an indicating dog. A pointer should be rarely more than 3m in front of the hunter at all times and should be pointing large and medium animals in the exact same manner that they point small game in this DLC.
The large roaming distance and barking could be a poor attempt at mimicking bailing, where your dog is sent far ahead of the hunter to locate and bail (pinning an individual or group of animals to a location by barking and herding) until the hunter arrives to dispatch them. However all your dog accomplishes in this DLC is alerting animals to your presence, well before you can even see them let alone before you are able to get a shot.
Aside from this major flaw, this would be a seriously good DLC. I love using the GSP for small game and even medium animals despite the large lead that they are for some reason given. But it's ridiculous that I can't use my dog to point red deer in the same manner that I do in real life.
If EW ever wants to fix this DLC, it is vital that your indicating dog is no more than 3 to 5m ahead of you at all times for both medium and large game, so they can do their actual job of locating and pointing deer where the hunter is able to see them.
