The Blind Prophet Review (Button Eyes)

The Blind Prophet is a point-and-click game with a unique, Mike Mignola (Hellboy) like artstyle. You play as Bartholomeus, an apostle sent by God to fight demons corrupting the city of Rotbork. Even if you're not a fan of the genre, I urge you to try it especially because of the artstyle and atmosphere. It makes the world so beautiful and immersive, a neon-lit city that looks both modern and medieval. While it doesn't have full voice acting, the great soundtrack still helps set the tone.
Gameplay is like the usual PnC, talking to people, finding items, combining and using them, etc. There's also some minigames, pretty unique ones I might add. Like there's one where you find hidden letters in an image, and more action-based ones such as a shooting gallery minigame. However, despite the story, there aren't many playable "action" scenes, like for example when you kill a demon it only happens in cutscenes, not even through interaction. There's a combat minigame though, but only 1 and at the end.
Maybe it's because I'm having a great time, but to me sadly this game kinda felt not long enough. I know lore-wise apostles doesn't encounter all demons, but the ones not shown are the ones I really wanna see. There are some story elements that's left unexplored or not fully explained. There's also at least 1 area, a shop, where you have the arrow interaction to enter, but you never enter that place. And it's not because I missed something, the story of this game is linear, no branching storylines.
Overall, The Blind Prophet is a beautiful point-and-click game, probably one of the prettiest I ever played. I also love the dark atmosphere, and the use of fantasy elements in a modern setting. If you're a fan of PnC games or the type of story/atmosphere, you should definitely give it a try. Would be cool if they add options to skip minigames though as some can be confusing. I hope there will be sequels, as I'm in love with this universe!
