Startup Company Review (Suzu)
One of the best games I played!
I listed things that I noticed in the game.
Employees. You need to negotiate, offer them competitive salaries and some bonuses. It is great that they included satisfaction, demands and expectation as part of the game. I think I'm getting the gist of winning the applicants hearts. Though this is a game, I think they have implemented enough characteristics to embody the real life situation of the applicants.
One experience is that I need to train one newbie to increase his speed and after reaching the expert level he left. I dunno if I missed something but I guess, his expectations increased and I was not aware of it yet. That was a lesson tho because I invested time to stop some research work just to train him. T_T
Helpful questions:
1. How long do I need to train this employee?
2. Is he/she worth my investment?
3. Will I be able to provide his/her demands within a month?
4. How much can I offer?
5. Can I sustain their satisfaction level?
I know, it looks serious but I think these questions will really help! I took a serious time hiring employees!
Why do employees stay? You offer them what they need and help them improve. There are some young expert applicants and they show extremely good profiles. In real life, age doesn't matter if you can market yourself properly, acquire these high paying skills.
Retirement. Wow. I love this part, as the CEO it motivates me to set my system at max so I can beat the retiring years. The game includes retirement funds which is amazing! You can also provide retirement benefits to your employees ;)
Finances. I struggled with the allocation at first because I have limited resources. You earn when you complete a milestone, but I know in real life, it is not like that. Made an excel file to actually compute things, and I can say, it helped me improve my budgeting skill a bit! Quality over quantity. You really have to prioritize one aspect of the company. For that I prioritized making the ceo an expert so she can work 4x faster! Next are the developers.
They included budget, transactions and loans! If you are a risk taker, try one of their loans and see if it works. Experiment ;)
Components. I struggled here a bit. Some tools are created first before the next project begins, I had to redo the saved game because I lost around 1 1/2 weeks of profit/work T__T. Key here, mindfulness. When you start your own company from scratch, you have to oversee every detail. I saw the inventory part a little too late where I can create plans. This will lessen your management burden if you create alternative plans so you don't have to manage each employee.
Market. They also placed the top competing markets in the game. Funny how I feel elated enough when I saw the name of my own company even if its the last one. So we gotta climb up the ladder dear!
Marketing. I love this part! Multiple campaigns can be used and you just have to control when you use this. I was able to reach more than the target audience with a limited budget. At first, I have to risk more budget but eventually got the secret ;)
Users. Great thing they have computations for the registered and potential users of the platform. Included satisfaction rates and Adblockers too! cool.
Response time and the features of my website are shown as well. You can also see the stats based on the websites performance.
Investment offers. Before one can reach this point, they have to create a really stable and promising company!
Stocks. They also have this cute weekly update of the ones who lead and lose in the stock market. Krazyyy!
Support team. This is really cute. Anything needed to improve the company's services can be resolved here. You can create team and satisfaction levels are also included.
Research. I love how this game highlights this part. We have to study things!
Interface.Design. Pretty straightforward, I love that it motivates me to see Retiring in _ years displayed.
Music. Chill enough.
In a nutshell, this is a superb game. I know, achievements here are just based on the conditionals given but if you get the meat of each aspect, you can say that the money and time invested playing this game is worth it! Can give you a bit of an idea of what may happen if you decide to own one company someday.
I will play this a lot ^-^
