Startup Company Review (reoxthen)
This game's not terrible, but it's not great either. The lack of depth makes it feel a bit flat. The one-size-fits-all management style doesn't really change as you scale your company, and that doesn't make sense. You could be running a startup with a handful of employees and a website with a few thousand visitors, or a giant corporation with 500 staff and billions of users, and the game's all, "Yeah, it's all the same".
Who wants to micromanage every single decision when you're running a huge company? As a CEO, wouldn't you want your managers to hire and build their own teams within a given budget while you focus on the big picture? The game's not giving you that.
And even the tools for micromanaging aren't the best. Say you want to outsource a massive amount of specific components. You've got to set the components and amount for each of the 10 outsourcing people individually, every time. No presets or history to speed things up. And it's the same with the recruiters - you have to go through several steps to even get them to start working. No options to automate, like, "Hey, find me 3 people with a speed greater than 300", and you have to handpick each one. Plus, the UI won't even remember the sorting.
The ad part of the game is basically just waiting for an offer above $8. What's the point of all those lower values?
So yeah, you'll have some fun with this game for a few hours, but after that, the novelty kind of wears off.
