Star Trek: Infinite Review (Dja Akh)

TL;DR: The game has been abandoned while in a not quite finished state.
"Not quite finished" means: The game works! There are no major bugs or main missing features. HOWEVER, balancing of factions and content (or the lack thereof) suggest there was a plan for more updates and DLCs which now will never happen.
Without this, the 4 factions feel quite unbalanced which makes playing with friends... challenging. Two of the factions barely even have reasons to interact with the rest of the main powers.
The lack of content, however, is the big issue. After playing one game I didn't have the stomach to go in for another one. It feels like playing a Stellaris mod. There is one way to play (for each faction), there is only one way how the game will go and there is just one end-game crisis. War only happens if players (or the AI!) gets bored since expansion is just more useful. It gets repetative soooo quickly.
If this game was just the starting point for years of cool stuff to come I'd say: Go grab it! But as it stands, just don't.
