I bought this game in pre-order simply because I knew it was a stellaris reskin. I'm a Star Trek fan and I was looking forward to enjoying this game because I really enjoy stellaris. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. I really tried to enjoy this game. I like all the ideas behind the game but unfortunately it just wasn't finished. I really liked the Hearts of Iron style Events research tree. I thought that was really interesting. The idea that the Federation could ,Theoretically, Turn "Evil" Was intriguing to me. Small things that I would have imported from stellaris into this game that should have been implemented like, construction ships automatically going out and building mines and research facilities. Thing in stellaris which I really like. I don't have to micromanage smaller ships. I can concentrate on planets and starships. But that simple mechanism which is standard in stellaris wasn't in this game. I found that quite annoying. There were several other things in the game that could have been streamlined better but weren't. I really wanted to like this game so much I reinstalled it recently. To give it one more shot. Unfortunately, I can download A Star Trek mod for Stellaris that is far superior. It really is a shame that they dropped this game. I would have loved to have seen a DLC with the Dominion. Or Even a Birth of the Federation style Campaign where Each Race can start off With a single planet and branch off to forged their own History with a Star Trek flair. Too bad. I'll just use the Star Trek Stellars mod for a superior Game.
