Sociable Soccer 24 Review (mrmoon37)
Well this is the spiritual sequel to Sensible Soccer, the concept has been modernized a bit, but you cannot deny it's roots.
Sociable Soccer 24 has several changes to 'Sensi', the speed is slower, and now you have more control of the ball.
I see this game as a "work in progress" because they are constantly updating it. Recently they made the goalkeepers harder to beat.
The main mode is the career one, where you build your team from scratch, and you progress through different divisions. I am addicted to this mode. But I have to admit that it needs some improvements (you recieve players randomly, so if you want to improve an specific position in your team, you'll have to wait until luck delivers what you need).
The gameplay is good for playing against friends, and the shooting mechanics are top notch. It allows different goal opportunities, so every time you score you see a different play.
One thing that I would improve is the difficulty (The hardest one is not that challenging), and to add an edit option for some teams. This game has the FIFPro license, so most European players appear in their teams (the teams aren't licenced). And also, several leagues appear without license, just with the names of the city for each team (like the Mexican League).If they added the edit option I could change the names of my favorite local team (which is included but unlicensed).
Sociable Soccer 24 is great for short goal ridden matches, each match is less than 5-minutes long. So it's fun, short and sweet.
