Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways Review (rodri88)

Capcom did an S+ amazing job on Separate Ways; clearly showing how much they love RE4. I played the original and loved it but this one is different. Like RE4remake, the gameplay is fun, fast and easy to play and the graphics are brilliant. Her grapple hook is fun going up buildings revisiting parts of the map that are inaccessible in the maingame.. and her hookshot melees and kicks at enemies are satisfying. Her boss battles are cool .. much better than in the original. Ada's campaign fills in gaps in the story, brings up much more nostalgia from the orginals and it overall just completes the game. You get to revisit Leon/Ashley cutscenes but in Ada's view. I also like how other characters influence her.. which show she isn't that boring cold spy/mercenary that's commonly represented.. and that she 'isn't heartless after all' as Leon puts it. Ada's new voice acting has grown on me the more times I replay it.. I still prefer the original RE4 acting which is smooth and sweet. For a dlc - this is a bargain for the price given the quality of the content. The best thing about RE4/Separate ways is Leon/Ada; the most interesting character interaction/development in the entire series. This game is 100% worth it if you loved RE4remake.
