Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Review (XYX)
The best onimusha and my favorite game of all time is now on PC. Samurai's Destiny is the unique middle child of the trilogy in the sense that it's going for a more JARPG journey. The friendship system takes full focuse here as you will be alternating between the four allies wants and desires. This system opens up multiple pathways that will shape the story and outcomes for each of them. The combat is smooth with ranged to close range magice attacks and even a counter system famous to this series called the iseen. This game is special and dear to me and I am so glad it's not stuck on the PS2 anymore. The locations of Samurai's Destiny is also a series height and are very memorable. The story has a nice balancing act of light hearted moments and sadness and despair which I have always loved about this game. The music also lends itself to the setting's and surroundings. My favorite aspect of this game has to be the stunning pre rendered backgrounds which are some of the most jaw droping things capcom has ever made. I will say I am not really a fan of demon seige mainly because they removed the friendship/RPG mechanics from this game and kinda regressed some other aspects like the combat/moving to full 3d. I know that game is the fan favorite of the trilogy but It's my least favorite. With all of that said if you are new to the series and wanted to try the games out Samurai's Destiny is not only one of the best sequels ever made but the best onimusha game made so far in my opinion (minus Way of the Sword which has not been released at the time of this review).
Whats new in the remaster -

Anyway this is a 10/10 game now preserved in a superior manner so its a 10/10 again lol. Also thank GOD I do not have to use a crt/PS2 to play this anymore lol.
