Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm Review (Robot Pirate King Rox (NL))
Sound:
The music and in ingame sounds are all very nice.
Your character is mute and that is very noticable at times.
The commentary from your 3 side characters is boring at best and anoying and meta at worst more so the latter.
Graphics:
The screenshots and trailer show what the game looks like perfectly and i had no graphic problems at all.
Gameplay:
1: Travel
In some screenshots you see a boat and plane those are just there to replace walking on the overworld map sometimes.
It suffers from the typical rpg problem that you have a lot of map with alot of corners with nothing in them and therefore a lot of pointless walking and the fact that running is stopped by a stamina bar does not help.
2:Combat
it Says RPG that is barely true it is a button mash hack and slash with a 3 slash combo and 1 range attack with 3 elemental types.
You get xp from enemies if it doesnt get propeled of screen for no good reason but it just raises a bar you don't see and every so often gives you a new rank name and says you can hold some more ammo there are no skills or anyting like that all in all a very easy game combat wise.
3:side quest/content.
Collectibles feel pointless at all times and dont get you anything good.
Other side quests also only get you shards to slightly up the damage of weapons or reduce charge time
Story:
It is all rather predictable from the start and the ingame card game spoils alot of details from the start if you pay attention.
Bugs:
85% into the game controls started acting up during combat along with random slowmo effect.
90% controls stopped almost completely stopping me from completing the game.
TLDR:
Everything feels like the put in half the effort to make it good and stopped except graphics and sound design.
Map is too big and traversel too slow.
Combat works but is very basic and does not get better.
No actual rpg ellements except some extra ammo space wich couldve been a collectible like health upgrades.
All side content is pointless.
Card game spoils the game if you pay attention and the coin flips seem unfair in algorithm favoring the opponent when new card are too be won.
Story is basic and predictable.
Bugs made the game unplayable near the end of the game.
