New World: Rise of the Angry Earth Review (Diggs)

After not having played NW for 19 months up until this expansion, I was pleasantly surprised with what I was coming back too. Initially anyway. When I found out that all they did was reskin First Light, I was heavily dissappointed. Why get rid of a territory for (Yes I know they made Edengrove a territory, but that's not what I meant). It's like they are scared of opening the map up more, and losing player base.
What happened to all the exciting "hints" of things to come. Such as ships/sailing/map being twice the size etc. And for the life of me, I can't believe they haven't added any love to company management. Not even a treasury audit log! No guild banks or housing. Nothing. You dont really feel like you are in an actual company unless you see your flags mounted on a territory, and that gets old after awhile. AGS needs to introduce new company mechanics for both territory owners, as well as non-territory owners. Give us guild housing or something.
The introduction of the artifact system is nice, but it just means there is more to grind. Especially in coming back from a long break, the PvP track is a massive grind. And each patch AGS seems to break something. Like a simple patch completely broke people being able to login. Where are your Quality Control workers?
In summary, New World has given me a lot of fun both 19 months ago, and the last 2 1/2 months in playing it. But if AGS don't release a road map of actual new content, instead of a new dungeon here, and a new season pass there, they will eventually merge all servers in to the last remaining one which would mean the end of the game.
Do better AGS. Bring back the fun. Listen to your playerbase. GIVE COMPANIES SOME LOVE!
