Naraka: Bladepoint Review (Wanderer)

As someone who’s tried almost every battle royale under the sun, I can honestly say Naraka: Bladepoint stands out – and not just because of its flashy visuals or fast combat. It’s one of those rare games where, even after getting stomped a few times, you want to queue back in, get better, and land those satisfying kills.
- Graphics & Art Style
Right off the bat, Naraka hits you with style. The game has this beautiful mix of ancient Eastern aesthetics with a bit of high-fantasy flair. Environments are varied – from cherry blossom forests to misty temples – and they actually feel alive.
What I like most is the character design. Every hero looks unique, their animations are smooth, and special abilities have a nice visual pop without being overdone. Also: runs super smooth, even on mid-tier PCs.
- Gameplay & Combat
Combat is the selling point. If you’re into melee-focused games, this is a playground.
Movement feels buttery smooth, with grappling hooks, parkour, wall-running, and verticality baked into every map.
The combat system is timing-based, almost like a fighting game – think rock-paper-scissors, but with blades, combos, and counters. Every kill feels earned. Button mashers don’t get far. Ranged weapons are there too (bows, muskets, cannons), but melee is the star of the show. There’s a learning curve, no doubt. But once you land your first perfect counter or chain kill, you're hooked.
- Heroes & Abilities
Each hero brings something different – some are tanks, others are stealthy assassins, and some support your squad.
Abilities aren’t overpowered like in some hero-based games; they enhance your playstyle without replacing mechanical skill.
- Modes & Match Variety
Standard solo, duo, trio BR modes Ranked for competitive grind Limited-time events, custom lobbies, and a PvE mode for chill sessions. Also includes a cool tutorial and training mode for mastering combos or weapons
- Sound & Music
Audio is top-notch. Weapon swings are crisp, footsteps matter (especially in sweaty 1v1s), and the soundtrack has a cinematic, East-Asian vibe that fits the theme perfectly. Some character voice lines can be a bit cheesy, but it’s part of the charm.
- Customization & Progression
Skins, weapons, armor – a lot of cosmetic depth, and it doesn't feel too pay-to-win.
The monetization is there, but not aggressive. Most stuff can be earned by just playing. And they drop new skins and heroes often enough to keep it fresh.
- What I Don’t Love (But Can Live With)
New players might feel overwhelmed at first Matchmaking can be rough at certain MMRs
Some balance issues pop up now and then after patches
But to be fair, the devs are active, drop regular updates, and listen to community feedback more than most.
- Final Verdict
Naraka: Bladepoint isn’t just a gimmick BR – it’s a legitimately fun, stylish, and skill-based brawler that rewards good timing, smart movement, and tactical decisions. If you’ve ever wished Apex or Fortnite had swords, this is your game.
Score: 8.5 / 10
Great game with a steep skill ceiling, killer visuals, and actual staying power.
