Naraka: Bladepoint Review (Elric Kvothe)
The gameplay loop itself is solid and pretty fun. The characters and weapons are interesting and varied, and there are a lot of different content modes to play with. All in all, it seems like the game would be a blast. However, the community is TOXIC... Like all the League of Legends people that got banned for toxicity came to Naraka instead. The Discord community is filled with kids who like to say, "git gud", and other highly intellectual sayings.
Nothing makes a new player want to quit faster than being absolutely fricking demolished by a top tier veteran player - repeatedly. Where are these uber impressive leet players you say? In ranked mode, right? Nope, they troll through the unranked Quick Play games. There may be 100,000+ players online, but I bet you will see the same top 10 players in almost every Quick Play match. Constantly as a new player I was put in matches with veteran players decked out in cosmetics and expert (sometimes perfect) timing and skills. In this game if there is a player with more experience than you - they WILL win. It has nothing to do with the gear you have, the weapon you are using, or the character you use. They know the perfect timing, the range of every skill, and exactly how to counter your every move. The veterans just absolutely trash the new players every game. Some of them will intentionally run around with lower tier gear so that when they crush you, they prove that they are just that much better than you. So. Much. Fun.
