Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Review (robilar5500)

So, **Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk** warns you from the outset that this features a heavy and dark story, and I'd say that warning is appropriate.
It was fully Steam Deck compatible with R2 to advance the story and Right analog to control the cursor. I'd guess R1 is page back, but I didn't actually try it.

*Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk* starts where *Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk* leaves off, so you know this is going to be about treating severe mental issues with extreme amounts of reality altering pills. This game is pretty much about trying to find a place within yourself where you're able to function without being medicated, since it's kinda a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' scenario regardless. Not functional on medication, not functional off, but trying to be.
For my part, I approached this game as an interested observer since I can't really relate to the topic matter, but am interested in better understanding people regardless of their circumstances. I did play through to one of the endings, but I don't necessarily want to go through the mind of the protagonist repeatedly to get the others. I think that is more for people who would find catharsis in this type of game.

Anyway, a few notes I took:
The OST is a cool mix of dark gothic industrial and doom. Very groovy, with good slow riffs and a lot of space.
The graphics are all black white and red outside of the occasional use of blue grey shading and more full colored 'cut scenes'. This all serves the topic well. The frames are drawn in Russian Anime style.
The English translation was flawless.
There was a quote in the game, "I'll never drink milk ever again" which was unintentionally comical to me since I find milk to be pretty disgusting IRL, and so I was like "Preach Sister!" lol.

Overall, every aspect of this game was a significant improvement over the first game, which in light of this one, should be viewed as sort of a proof of concept or a chapter zero/prelude type game.
I think value to cost will be more about how much you connect with the story, but I'm thinking it earns its asking price, although certainly better on sale.
