Kingdom Eighties Review (Tarnished)

Kingdom Eighties is one of the best kingdom games I have played for one reason. It has a story besides building a kingdom, killing greed, for security. I mean that is nice, but here you are a teen in the 80s who needs to save your city. Greed have appeared out of nowhere and you need to find out what it is and how to get rid of it. Saving the town is a great motivator as you feel as though you are getting closer to completion and every victory where you are getting closer to that feels great.
Now, the things I like about kingdom games is that they remind me of an arcade game from the 90s which makes this one even better as I feel like it takes you back to the 80s to play it.
The laser towers are also nice in this game and those annoying flying guys don't show up to carry off your workers to be never seen again so you don't have to worry about them. That does mean that the towers you build in other games to station archers are missing and that bothers me a bit, but it is a good trade.
Having friends who go with you is a great situation as well. They act more or less like the mines but also have other things that they do. The athlete and tinker help keep greed off of you which is great. I also love the barrier that the athlete pushes for you as it makes it feel so much different than other kingdom games but it is a great situation that allows for different tactics to take down portals.
The Easter eggs are great too. It feels like a modern civilization that would have popped up from the kingdom games. You also get 80s Easter eggs so I love that too. That makes the environments amazing as you see different things and chuckle about it keeping the play from getting boring, because you may run into something amazing if you keep moving forward.
The different levels of play are very fair as well. None of them are impossible, but they feel impossible when you get to cursed which means that when you push your way forward it feels amazing like you accomplished things.
The mounts are great too, and you will need good ones if you play cursed. They all play differently and learning their differences makes it all worth it. Some are really hard to get too so it feels great when you figure out how to get them. I would suggest trying to get every one of them if you can.
I would play this to near completion. Forget the 50 day one as that takes so much time to get and try not to get the clumsy one (got it due to a stupid mistake at the very end of hard) but have fun with it. If you have played a kingdom game and like it as well as the 80s then there is no reason to not get it.
