Gunbrella Review (Brand0n X)
Do not buy this game.
This is a game that shows really well with it's really nice pixel art and in the short bits of action that they showed off in the trailer. I bought this game thinking it would be an action platformer / metroid vania kind of game. It is absolutely not.
The biggest issue is the story is a broken mess that even by the end I had no idea what was going on. The story jumps around and you will speak with an NPC which will spit out verbal diarrhea which is not related to the main quest and will you give a side quest. 2 minutes later you finish the side quest because it will be as easy as going into the door next to you and that's the end of that "story arc". Everything seems so unfocused and confusing and weird. It feels like the story and side quests were designed for a 20 hour game and not a 4 hour game.
The level design is as vanilla as it comes. The umbrella mechanic *could* of been really good with interesting platforming challenges. The platforming doesn't evolve to anything more difficult then level 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. The enemies you encounter basically sit still until you 1 shot and kill them. Very little challenge with them. The bosses some are designed well and others I would just walk an inch away from them and spam the shooting button and would kill them in 5 seconds.
This is the worst devolver digital published game that I've played to date. It's extremely lower in quality and fun compared to their usual games (Broforce/Carrion/etc..). The art and style is a 10, but the gameplay and story is a 1. This game should of been like Celeste with a minimalistic story that is focused and a game that was designed on floating around and shooting with the gunbrella.
Do not buy trust the negative reviews this game isn't even worth it on a big sale. It's bad.
