Greyhill Incident Review (SpaceHammy)
The game is kind of all over the place. The aesthetics are probably the best part of the game. The atmosphere, lighting, de-saturated dark windy forest vibes works pretty well for Alien Abduction. Honestly though, after the initial kind of buildup it starts to get a little wacky fast. It's insanely apparent that the voice acting was all done separately and without any idea of cadence or enthusiasm they should be doing their lines with. Sometimes a character will just YELL a line when someone asks them something in a regular tone.
The alien hunting mechanics are OK, but lack the OOMPH or spookiness after the first area.
This all being said, the design decisions around the stamina is weird too. It takes FOREVER for your stamina to come back. You can tell they made the decision almost actively to pad the game out, forcing you to walk all over the place and sit around to recover stamina. You will be running around a lot too because you'll probably have NO idea where to go. Paths open and close behind you or in front of you depending on your current objective, and I honestly got lost many times not knowing where to go in this extremely short game.
I played it all the way to the end. The ENDING is atrocious. It feels like it completely blue-balls you after setting up certain things, and then just literally ends as if the devs ran out of time or something.
Tough to get a good Alien game, and this is still not it. Not recommended at all, especially at the price. This should be like 10 dollars max.
