Greyhill Incident Review (Santiago)

Christ on a Cross this game is something.
Graphics
Definitely not good but, could've been worse. The lighting and overall ambience kinda captures what it'd be like in a classic Alien horror situation but, again it definitely wasn't good. Not to mention the optimisation is God awful. Some areas just drop my FPS so drastically (running 32gb ram, 3600xt CPU and a 6750xt GPU so, pretty beefy) and I can barely see anything from time to time because I wasn't able to change the brightness after the launching the game for the first time (what????)
Gameplay
Trash lmao. Mechanics are just trash. I love how the developers change the running speed and stamina recharge after players complained and yet the game STILL feels so damn slow. The stamina STILL takes forever to recharge and running still feels like you have the most unfit main character in existence. You can't jump either which is just, lazy. There's a lot of fences, a lot of debree that could easily be jumped over and the fact that you can't is just lazy.
Weapons are basically useless, the baseball feels like it doesn't connect half the time and the gun didn't even work for me (although it apparently worked for others so, fair). I couldn't equip the gun at all throughout the entire time I played the game until finish, even though I got it from the police officer's car when he crashed so again, just useless.
Audio
Christ I can hear literally one person during any of the voice lines and that's the MAIN CHARACTER. Literally NO ONE ELSE is as loud as him regardless of whether you turn up the volume in the settings (which btw the fact that the game released without an audio setting is shocking). Everything else is alright in terms of the music, UFOs, the aliens chittering etc. But the fucking voice acting is terrible. The lines are overlapping and interrupting one another (sometimes 1 person legit interrupts their OWN LINE WHAT) and the subtitles are so delayed or far off what the person is saying, it's a fucking joke honestly.
Audience
Tbf you got this spot on and it's probably one of the only good things about the game. The concept and idea of the game was perfect. Classic alien abduction and invasion story set in the 80s/90s of America, after Roswell and all the other UFO sightings and increased. The audience was definitely reached as we're all crazy UFO enthusiasts and would love to find out what's actually in Area fucking 51. So, good job :)
PC Requirements
Means fuck all considering as the game is not very well optimised in certain areas. But fair play, it's optimised well in others.
Difficulty
Against the aliens? I felt like they were okay. The baseball bat is obviously buggy and sometimes doesn't connect but, regardless it's decent. However I feel like if you knock out an alien 3 times, then they should eventually be killed (considering as the gun was bugged for me and I couldn't use it lol).
Grind
Nothing really to grind other than WALKING SLOW AS FUCK EVERYWHERE JESUS CHRIST GIVE US A MAP
Story
Like I said, the only good thing. Really well done on the story EXCEPT THE ENDING WHY IS THE GAME THIS SHORT LMAO. The story itself is so good but the fact that you guys cut it short that quickly, that abrubtly is ridiculous. If it wasn't for being lost the entire fucking game (jesus christ give us better UI because it's actually disgusting how bad you have to navigate your way round this game) then this game would be finished in 30 minutes and I could actually refund it. Instead, bcs of the crappy way you have to walk around, it takes more than the maximum time to refund a game, literally a money making scheme LOL
Gametime
Like I said, without being lost everywhere it'd be 30 minutes, 40 max. But bcs you get lost, it goes to 3 hours at least and you can't even refund it bcs refunding takes 2 hours. Ridiculous. But again, the game is just too short. Where's the rescue of the main character's child? Where's the rescue of everyone else that was abducted? What about the "mysterious man" that is not delved into AT ALL LIKE THIS IS LITERALLY WRITTEN BY 16 YEAR OLDS IN A BASEMENT MAN
Price
Fuck off this is not worth 20 quid. 10 maximum, and it should really be 8. Complete fucking rip off.
Bugs
OH SO MANY JESUS FIX THE GAME COME ON. In the cornfield your trigger boxes for audio are still not big enough. I had to do two laps of the cornfield to trigger Rachel and her "help" voice lines again (again shocking fucking voice acting from basically everyone except Bob who was insane). The baseball bat just doesn't connect sometimes. I can't pull out my fucking gun for whatever reason despite the amount of times I spam RMB. When hiding in a trash bin and an alien pulls me out, I try to break free but it bugs out and just shakes my entire screen, keeping my permanently in the alien's grasp, can't break free, can't die, nothing unless I quit to the main menu and start again.
Out of Ten?
2/10. And that's fucking generous.
Overall
Been waiting for this game since last August where I first saw footage of this game. And it literally hasn't changed a bit. If the player isn't lost and knows exactly where to go in this game (which they should have if you gave them a proper UI system, IE, a minimap, a quest marker, ideal objectives instead of "find fucking Rachel") then this game would be done in 30 minutes. But no. Because you guys make it so DIFFICULT for no reason, it takes so long to finish this game that by the time you're done, you CAN'T REFUND IT LMAO.
This game is a fucking money making scheme and it's done poorly. Fucking terrible and way too over hyped.
