Figment 2: Creed Valley Review (SirCabbage)

So far just as good as the original- if even a little better. It still maintains a charming storyline, though Dusty is a lot more prepared and ready for his roll given his successes in Figment 1. While it does still feel a little short, with some areas ending far sooner than I would like (so far), I do find that what is here presents a greater variety of gameplay.
Musically, and let's be honest that is likely the best element of these games, it is improved too. While some of the songs are mildly less distinct than something like the plague, they are actually better songs. That "discard opinions song" specifically is particularly catchy even if the lyrics mean you likely shouldn't be singing along with it much.
Interesting and new to the series is a greater focus on the outside world. While there are still memories which give you insight (though, they seem glitched at the moment); there is also an ongoing storyline about another struggle our character is going through. This is also reflected in the gameplay mechanics which match very well with the ways in which this game is focused. One primary change that surprised and delighted me is that instead of knocking on a house door, hearing a thought and moving on; now there are opinions who live in the houses. They come out and can actually HELP you (or hinder you) during the puzzles.
Overall this is a charming new game in what I hope continues to be a series. I can suggest checking it out as it is clearly made with love and passion, and a hell of a musical touch.
I have now finished it and I still stand by what I wrote in this review. It is a lovely little game.
