Dust & Neon Review (Cogwheel)
This is my first game review and I hate that it's going to be a negative one. If this was a cheaper game maybe I would have given it a pass but at a 30 dollar price point...nope.
Pros:
1.Hmm...I thought the train missions were kinda clever/cool? Still had problems but the idea was kinda cool.
Cons:
1. No story to speak of.
2. For some reason the developers decided to reduce the experience rewards you get once you reach a certain level,
turning it into a grind.
3. Bullets sometimes pass through enemies (when they are upright and standing still). I've unloaded entire magazines
without a hit (and the vapor trails show that they should have been hits).
4. You get spanked if you don't use cover but then the game throws rapid moving melee bots and/or heat seeking explosive
rounds that detonate above your head, punishing you for using cover. Not a fan of that.
5. As a PC user, you can't remap key functions.
6. No minimap or other map function. Not a game breaker but annoying none the less.
7. Extremely repetitive missions.
8. No voice acting, just weird robot noises that get old very quickly.
9. When you die and get cloned back to life you have (eventually through spending your experience rewards) the option of
buying back the weapons you lost when you died. Except the game takes a huge chunk of your money when you die,
and the buyback cost of your old weapons are very high.
Overall, I am really disappointed in the game, considering it's 30 dollar cost. I'd rate this a 15 dollar game at best, in it's current state.
