Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King Review (bam!)
crown of the ivory kings eleum loyce is possibly my favourite location in all of ds2. a snowy and spooky castle with danger around every corner, which eventually clears up and becomes an almost totally different experience after the first boss. it reminded me of my first time walking through undeadburg as the sprawling, labyrinthine level linked back to itself unexpectedly a few times, and you could see where you were going to end up if you stopped and looked around. also, you gather a gaggle of guys to kill the final boss, and it feels like you've really built up your own band of explorers. a familiar lanced foe makes an appearance, as does a big fat dude you've seen in a little known movie named Start Wars.
some truly crap moments (i do not care for the area made up of rolling spiky rabbits and stone giants) but the bosses are very fun.
i did not bother with frigid outskirts. looks lame.
