Clone Drone in the Hyperdome Review (ipodplayer777)
Pros:
-The game is incredibly innovative while still building off the original. Getting your hand cut off? Sucks, but you better make do.
-Voxel based swordfighting? Incredible. Everything Star Wars VR wishes it could be.
-Satisfying fights.
-Cool glove things (forget the name) and innovative abilities.
-Enemy animations are fun and while I can feel swarmed, I don't feel helpless. Unless it's the glaive guys.
Cons:
-It's a roguelike, there's absolutely zero progression I've seen so far other than unlocking the Rogue bosses. The original game was a roguelike, so it's cool, but I would like some sort of progression since VR is more of a time (and energy) sink. Maybe if you knock out the bosses, you get to start with one of their gloves next run.
-Nothing is really explained to you other than "Pick up and slash". Which is fine, I guess, but I have zero idea how a "KO" works or if it really knocks the bosses out. Even then, do I want to remove them from the Hyperloop? I like the glove powerups.
-I've only found 13 weapons, and I'm not sure there's more than 13 weapons.(Sword, Greatsword, Katana, Dagger, Rapier, Axe, Double Sword, Buckler, Full Shield, Shield with pointy end, bow) The fire dagger is cool, but it's the only unique weapon I've found.
-A few glitches here and there, but nothing major. Pretty well polished actually.
Needs in future update:
-A way to store at least two weapons for swapping out. Would like the ability to put a bow on my back
-Needs some more weapons, or at least fire-variant of normal weapons other than the dagger. Spear and Hammer return?
-I have zero idea how to get to the Training Ground, or if it's even functional.
-A glove power inventory system. If I collect 3 gloves in a match, I want to be able to swap them around and try out the combinations.
Overall? 8/10. Love Doborog, and I know they'll update it with cool new content like they always do.
