Escape from Prison
A Way Out is a cooperative game in which two players take on the roles of prisoners who decide to work together to escape from prison and get the common enemy. In the gameplay itself, there are quite a few cutscenes, which allow you to get into the role of your character, you get to know their stories in part.
The co-op itself often relies on proper synchronization, there aren't too many logical puzzles here, although a few times you have to think about what to do to move on. Overall, the co-op itself performs very well, but it's nothing special or sophisticated. It is worth noting that the co-op takes place on a shared screen. For most of the game it is a vertical division, but towards the end it meets more often horizontal division, which in my opinion performs worse, but it is not too much of a handicap.
I personally do not like the linearity in this game. And while the ending of the game I understand and do not have too much objection to it, I did not like the fact that our decisions rarely affected the further fate of the game. What's more, there was often no way to go about something other than the game punishes us. I understand that the game is based mainly on a fairly well-written story, but such linearity was quite noticeable.
Summary
A Way Out is definitely a good game that I quite enjoyed playing, although it looks to me more like an interactive movie where we can occasionally do something to keep our characters from getting hurt than a game. The linearity hurts a bit, but the story makes up for it, being interesting and engaging.
