Hello, Rulers!
It has been a while since our latest dev journal, and we’re getting closer and closer to the big day! On July 20, Lakeburg Legacies will be available to the entire world, and you’ll be able to discover all the new features we’ve worked on since we released the demo! 🎉
In this last dev journal, we wanted to bring the spotlight on Prestige, one of the core aspects of Lakeburg Legacies. As you may already know, in addition to building a cute medieval village and managing the chaotic social and couple life of its inhabitants, the goal of the game is to gather as much 💎 Prestige as possible.

Objectives
If you’ve played the demo, you may have stumbled on a rather aesthetically stern objectives window This won’t be the case on release day: it now has a brand-new interface, and even some fancy animations! ✨
The Objectives screen not only displays all the objectives you can complete to gain additional Prestige, but also every other source of Prestige in the game:
🏰 the Sovereign and their consort in the Castle;
👸 the passive production of villagers belonging to the noble class;
💎 fulfilling luxury needs of villagers;
❤️ couples that share a high level of love;
🧑 the passive production brought by some traits;
🏛️ but also, Prestige produced by the noble buildings.
Noble Buildings
Noble buildings are four end-game buildings whose whole purpose is bringing prestige and amusement to the village:
🐎 the Jousts;
💃 the Ballroom;
🍲 the Banquet;
🃏 and the Gambling den.
Other buildings function automatically, while on the contrary, noble buildings need an input to start producing. After placing four workers in the building, players can start producing Prestige by pressing the Start button. The workers will be unable to leave this building until production ends.
Additionally, other villagers will be randomly selected to take part in the festivities! Social relationships will be distributed among them. Since this is just entertainment for them, that won’t make them leave their worker slots if they’re already working! 
The Castle
The Prestige from the Castle 🏰 comes from the work of the Sovereign and their consort at the end of a production cycle.
To make the interface clearer, we’ve recently reworked the Castle to divide it in two parts: first, the Throne room, where court business is held...
…and then the Royal quarters, where the royal family lives and which work in the same way that a House would.
But...what's the use of Prestige?
Depending on your Prestige score at the end of a game, you’ll earn a certain amount of a meta currency. What will you be able to unlock with it? Well, that’s the final surprise we’re keeping for you!
