Honestly the game is fine, But it gets boring VERY fast. I kinda regret buying it and feel I should of waited till it went on sale at least. I'll prob play this for a few more hours or maybe even a couple days max before I drop it and most likely never play it again.
Cons:
The game boasts that you "You Meddle in People’s Lives" and that you play matchmaker for so many different people while trying to keep the resources of a kingdom balanced and afloat. But it feels like there isn't much in the way of actually "Meddling" or many "impacting choices". There isn't a lot of things that happen after the initial match-making and marriage unless you do a poor job of it.
If you want to do something to a existing marriage and cause a marriage to break-up or try and encourage one of the random proc chance cheating relationships you need to spend a LOT of "heart" points" to do so, and those are better spent rolling to find better Match-ups in the first place. Relationship break-ups can happen naturally if you neglect to match together people of matching likes/traits but it is inefficient to choose to do so in the first place. Too many bad relationships can cause a chain reaction that causes your kingdom's resources to plummet fast and it's just not worth it to "meddle" too much in the first place.
On top of it all, near mid to late game you find the game is very repetitive and it only gets worse, random events can only take it so far and they arn't even good ones most of the time, so it's very disappointing.
Positives:
It's impressive that they have many mechanics working in harmony. It starts by matching people, not just with their romantic relationships but their career ones. If you put someone that has a Rude trait with another rude trait, their productivity of the whole workshop decreases and if left alone for too long can make all production stand to a halt. And if one of your resources dwindles to nothing then the whole town suffers. Everything from relationships, traits, Aspirations, and your characters job potential all make a difference in how things are run. I like how it can be a bit challenging to balance the sheer number of people in the mid/late game to all work together.
A positive in this game that it really needed are the random events that pop up, Like a couple might have trouble with Impotence, or your king is having trouble with the peasant, merchant or noble classes that needs to be addressed, you will usually get two choices to choose from that will effect the economy, relationships or give temporary or permanent positive/negative traits to people that will end up reflecting on their productively and happiness. These random events are not as frequent as I'd like but are one of the only things that spice things up and helps the game not feel so extremely flat in game play.
Overall, it I can tell it has a lot of work put into it. Everything has an impact on other things in the game one way or another. I just don't personally feel satisfied enough with the relationship building part of the game, and it feels like it was advertised to be a big part of the game itself. There are very minimal ways to actually make an impact with relationships, it just boils down to if you can random roll a matching couple together and then the game kinda auto randomizes not very frequent events every once in a while. It can take 30+ minutes of game play to get a random event and with random events being one of the very few ways to effect their relationships/lives it takes the fun out of it. Otherwise you just let the game play and something random will happen every once in a long while. You CAN pay a cost of "heart" points to do small things or get the ball rolling on some drama between families that you don't have to wait for the NPC to do a random event for, but that's pretty much it and it is just not enough for me.
