Highwater Review (NeoGeo)

This is a children's game, but for adults. If the Simpsons, Adult-Swim and X-Com had an orgy, 'Highwater Bruno Ganz' would be the baby's name. This is like Power Rangers. You see their heads move, but this game's expletive subtitles read f**k, sh*t or c**k. Definitely not a game for minors, especially with references to the Fibonacci sequence, Eadweard Muybridge and Georges Méliès. But if you enjoy turn based killings with serene, although potty-mouthed Euro-centric yet bizarre calming touring music, then look no further.
Here, you can enjoy linear based game play with no real exploration or map; forced slow pop-up dialogue and credits; no manual game saves; one difficulty setting; no RPG-style leveling up or retention; limited to no weapon selection or diversity; random character combat; unexplained or difficult to decipher game play battles, perks or special abilities; very short story, and etc.
Be careful of paid reviews with thumbs-up obliviously, because there's not much else to see here. Knowing and traveling most of the world, this seems a bit Swedish, Dutch or German. With the gaming world expanding across the globe, and with international programmers coming out of the woodwork to make some cash, I wish there was a neutral selection rating, because I cannot in good conscious recommend this game. But I would also hate to down-rate some else's vision and hard-work they spent time and effort to share with others. Although in the spirit of not being close minded, and knowing that the world is much bigger than one country, I will uprate it, because I admit, the game was somewhat fun and is good for wasting a few hours. However, be careful of what you wishlist for.
