Could have been one of the best zombie survival games. Purchased H1Z1 on day 1. (Jan 15, 2015) King of the kill (KotK) was originally a side game mode (that PlayerUnknown helped develop for SOE) and could only be played with event tickets that dropped in the main game. Then the BR craze happened.
Sony sold SOE, Daybreak formed.
KOTK was the money cow, and the main game became the red headed step child.
Daybreak split H1Z1 into two games, H1Z1 Just survive and H1Z1 KOTK.
Daybreak renames the two games, by removing H1Z1 from Just Survive and Changing H1Z1 KotK to H1Z1.
H1Z1 is made F2P
Daybreak kills Just Survive
Daybreak basically kills H1Z1
H1Z1 is rebranded as Z1 BattleRoyal and reverted to a more favorable build of the game from 2017 to start again.
