Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection Review (Toki/光の戦士トキ)
nice collection if you have any nostalgia for those old yugioh games or just game boy, game boy color and game boy advance games in general.
online play is included only for one game(so far but it seems it's on Konami's roadmap to add online play for more titles) and only has the options for quickplay to get matched with someone random and invite to invite someone in your friends list to play with you
a little lacking in qol changes but the ones included are appreciated like being able to rewind(good to undo a misplay because sometimes these games don't ask for confirmation) and some simple cheats that unlock things you might not want to grind for.
some technical notes
1. had no actual problems with online play so far, it feels laggy but it's because of the game's nature that doesn't give you much feedback when the opponent is taking actions
2. played on Linux(endeavourOS, kernel version 6.12.16-1-lts) with proton experimental(my compatibility default) everything works just fine with no tweaks
if you're only used to the TCG/OCG or more recent yugioh videogames and not to these old games be warned:
about half of the collection does not play like the physical card game at all they're completely different games with just familiar faces included and some analogous mechanics and out of the games that are actually similar to the physical card game a few of them have some extra little things that differ from the TCG/OCG that seem small at a glance but change everything in the grander scheme of things.
