WWE 2K25 Review (Hytusk)
I play the WWE 2K games because I love wrestling and I love the customization - unfortunately when it comes to the character creator a lot of features are either glitched, removed or negatively altered.
- You are no longer able to set the layers of images (this is VERY important if you like to make complex designs with tattoos/shapes that require a lot of editing)
- Certain tops - if edited after a jacket - will appear over your jacket.
- Another thing impacting non-custom images is that you cannot change the material or the emboss of them, both wildly useful for customization
- You can use emboss with custom images but if you enable colorless it makes it invisible and changing the emboss slider resets the entire image settings.
- You can't copy attire parts from the same character, for example if you want to move a tattoo from outfit 1 to outfit 2, you can't without replacing the entire outfit.
- If you want to edit something, you NEED to use the edit button (which is new, and I habitually select the item in the big selection of items instead) or else the materials and colour will reset, which is an easy fix but still really annoying
- You can no longer change the opacity of certain things (body hair, etc)
- Character's second attire renders won't appear in the matchup screen, instead it will be the first costume - not a big issue but annoying nevertheless.
- You cannot set entrance outfits as your portrait/casual/referee outfit like you could in 2K24
Despite these issues, I have still been able to make and upload characters which I believe are to my standard.
The gameplay is as good as usual, and looks hopeful with the incredible DLC (apart from the NBA people we do not care about) and other benefits such as the amazing addition of intergender wrestling, emphasis on new game modes and the PC port also THANKFULLY not having the island I would argue once the cracks have been sealed it will be a worthwhile purchase, and perhaps THE modern WWE game to stick with.
