World of Goo 2 Review (Zepy)

I'm just happy, what else can I say? World of Goo 2 on Steam...
I remember playing World of Goo Demo on the Wii when I was a child. It became my favourite childhood game. Throughout the years, I came back to this game many times. I played it on the Wii, on PC and even mobile. It was the first game on which I installed mods to change some random stuff and add or create more levels, it was fun. I never forgot about the original. I even tried the devs' other games, and to this day I still love and sometimes play Little Inferno as well.
Then, 15 years later, a sequel got announced, which blew my mind.
I felt more hype for this game than I even feel for Deltarune or Silksong now. And man, it is good, World of Goo 2 is amazing, it's everything I could've wanted. This is how you do nostalgia bait properly, by making fun of it. On top of a good game with fun puzzles, you add some meta narrative about sequels and a bunch of more stuff. I love it so much... And the music is basically as good as the original (which probably is my favourite OST from any game as well). A bunch of the tracks are remixes, yeah, but they add on to the original music, it's awesome. The references are great, the story is as weird as the first game, and the new gameplay mechanics are fun too.
I wouldn't say this game is better than the original, but it lives up to it.
And yes, I know, this game came out on EGS first, and I don't like that either. They helped funding the game, so it makes some sense, I guess? I'm glad the game got funded, so in the end, I'm thankful for it, I just didn't like how it wasn't on Steam before. But at least there are DRM-free versions out there too. The price is also a bit too steep for a 2D indie game, I'll admit, but I couldn't stop myself from getting it right away. And it's worth if you love these games as much as I do...
But hey, here we are, on Steam. The game is here and it's still amazing! And it got updates with some achievements and new levels too.
I'm just so happy to be here right now. Thank you for making the sequel to the best game of my childhood <3
