Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Battle of Zhongyuan Review (Fennrix)
Sad to say "This isn't it". I beat the DLC with all achievements but one in about 3 hours, if you just focus on the new main missions, you are basically done in one hour. As people mentioned, there is almost no new content, enemies and map pieces are reused from the main game, basically feels like an asset shuffle or a mod. There are like 2 completely new enemies in it. The first of the three main missions is so short, it is just a circular village with 5 houses and then a boss at the end.
Final boss was very cool, but has waaay too much stuff and effects going on at the same time, so it is very hard to focus on his attacks. Also, the final boss of the last side mission was conpletely bs. My char is around lvl 150 on ng and the boss oneshot me with their lightning fast grab attack. Beat it after some tries, but felt more like RNG, that he didn't use the grab attack that much. Also they really love to troll you with the "the first boss of this game was so hard, so lets reuse him 3 times in this DLC alon", huh?
Sad to see the way they seem to handle DLC for this game, as the DLCs for Nioh 2 were much better. New fist weapon is cool, but there are only three or four skins for it. New armor looks very generic, nothing stand out for me. Wasn't even sure how many armor sets were actually new, because they looked so much like the base game stuff. Only heavy or medium armor, as far as I can tell, so no new cool armors for my fast agile character. At least the free Naraka armor looks cool...
Storywise it is also in a weird spot basically taking place after the first half of the game, so felt not really important and more like filler content. You don't miss anything if you don't play this. Not like Nioh 2, were you actually experienced new stuff.
Tl;dr: if you have the Season Pass already, just play this for another day, but don't get it if you don't own the season pass yet.
