Witch's Pranks: Frog's Fortune - Collector's Edition Review (QuantumWaltz)
This is a very stylish point-and-click adventure puzzle game. There are very few screens that count as being Hidden Object, and all of them have to do with gathering broken pieces of items to repair the image, so I can't quite call this a hidden object game. That said, the story is entertaining enough for a roughly 2.5-3h runtime including bonus chapter. The art is quite attractive in a twisted Mother Goose sort of way, with moments of genuine beauty. The puzzles are not so difficult or tedious that I found the need to skip any, and while there were repeats in puzzle type, they did not overstay their welcome and typically had a reason for resembling a similar puzzle - all in all, I'd say the most common actual puzzle showed up three times. It does suffer slightly from "find x number of shaped cabochons to unlock the door" syndrome - but there are just as many physical, purposeful items to find along the way, including some tools that see re-use.
If you're looking for a HOG, this ain't it - but if you're happy with puzzle-solving adventure games, then this might be a good fit for you.
