Wild Hearts Review (Unspokenfir5)
TLDR: I LOVED THE GAME, hate that it got a Switch 2 edition after being abandoned.
I enjoyed the game. The story was basic for a monster hunting game. (Let's be honest we don't play them for story.) The monsters were cool and I saw potential. I wish they didn't kill the game and decide to re sell the game for the switch 2. Like it feels like a stab in the heart. I would have played it more and still would if they updated and added new monsters. Like only 2 real new monsters were added post launch. It's sad to see games that have potential up and give up just because they worked with EA. If they don't want to add any content they should allow us to add content. The game ran a little clunky at first but was fun after you got it sorted out. It looked good and the monsters were fun to deal with. The weapon system was cool and the customization was great. Could keep and add what perks you wanted for your playstyle. The Karakuri was a great design and played really well. I loved being able to outwit the monsters with good placement and preparation. It took some getting used to in order to use the karakuri to it's full potential but that's what helps raise the skill ceiling. The fact that switch 2 is getting the game when it haven't been touched in 2 years by developers/updates and what not is stupid. Why are they now wanting to re bring the game to light after the success of MH:Wilds.... like no one is going to get the game if there's no update. The game was fun not not worth it when there's wilds now.... I loved the game don't get me wrong, but it's a stupid decision to drop the game and then re release it after their only competitor drops their best game to date. They had 2-3 years to cook with updates/monsters dlc and the Road map that they had but ultimately dropped. I don't know if the publishers know anything about how actual gamers think. It's not hard to think: oh I could get a new game that runs well, guaranteed fun and the monsters are cool with continuous support. Or spend my money on a game that barely works, has potential but takes getting used to, and has no support.. so if there's any issues I'll have to deal with it myself.. seems like EA forced Koei Tecmo to re release this game after forcing them to give up on it.. it seems like no developer remembers FF14 that game struggled when it released, but after a while they fixed the issues and made the game better now they are considered one of the top 3 MMORPG by most. Even Warframes Digital Extremes was on the verge of going Bankrupt, but they wanted to release warframe and people fell in love and they are in my opinion the most customer friendly game. Their support is phenomenal. What I'm getting at is I'm tired of companies release terrible games with no potential numerous times (sports games same game different roster) and then creating a potential masterpiece and it not working immediately so they drop it. (Not just this game but multiple others; including blue protocol for example.) Thank you for listening to my rant on the gaming industry.
