Wild Hearts Review (Teyloune)
Got the game on a 75% sale, and I’ve been having an absolute blast with it. I've experienced some minor performance issues - like when a lot is happening, the game can stutter or drop some frames. However, that hasn’t occurred frequently. The only consistent issue I’ve noticed is with certain hairstyles, which can glitch out in cutscenes, causing your hair or character to vibrate, which is a bit silly. I did have one random crash at the end of a multiplayer session (didn’t lose any progress), but overall, it’s been smooth. I keep seeing people call it a "dead game," but honestly, I just don’t get it - there are players online, and while the activity definitely changes depending on the time of day, it’s active enough to jump into multiplayer. Plus, I've met many friendly players who go to great lengths to help you out.
Gameplay-wise, think Monster Hunter but with a more arcade feel, and the game seriously shines when you’re playing with others. One standout feature is the ability to build gadgets called Karakuri right in the middle of fights. For example, you can throw down springs to launch yourself at monsters, pulling off some really cool and powerful attacks.
Now, is it worth the full $70? Nah, I wouldn’t say so - it’s good, but not that good. If you can grab it for $35 or less, though, it’s 100% worth it.
Oh, and heads up: you can edit your character later through an unlockable mirror called the Looking Glass, which the game doesn’t clearly indicate. So if you’re just testing it out, you don’t have to waste your first two hours in the character creator to make everything perfect and risk missing the refund window if it’s not your thing.
