Wild Card Football Review (NorthernLlama)
The game is a well built game, good aesthetics, and it runs well on steam deck, but I thought this would be a more arcadey game that I could play with my kids. This Aint That.
Though I like the concept offered here with the wild power-ups and silly OP variables thrown in, I couldn't get over the steep learning curve. The tutorial took me almost 30 minutes. Maybe if I'd played more modern football games like Madden, this would have been easier to pick up, but as is, the last football games I've played were Blitz 2001 and Retro Bowl, so the football controls were not immediately intuitive. With the wildcard system built on top, there is a lot of added complexity to be aware of and control on each turn.
Not for me. but if you're familiar with modern Madden, maybe you'll love it.
