Weedcraft Inc Review (Druidfire)

Picked this game up about 3 years ago played it for 3 hours and gave up after just getting lost in the learning curve. So fast forward today, was browsing my library as im waiting for Manor Lords to be released and decided to give this another spin. Wow just Wow, I wish I had stuck with it before, it truly is one of the most addictive game Ive played since Slay the Spire. Started playing at 6pm yesterday the wife went to bed and before I knew it the morning birds were singing and holy crap it was 4am.

You basically start with a couple of plants in your cellar and eventually have to expand to city after city. until you complete the story of whatever scenario you are playing of which there are 4. Im still playing the first one at the moment after over 20 hours which really is just to introduce you to all the systems but it really doesn't seem like an extended tutorial the story is great. There is also a sandbox mode.

As for the game itself the graphics are really nice , kinda cartooney and the soundtrack is banging. The UI text could do with being a bit bigger but overall it is informative and works well. Now the learning curve is quite steep but I got round it by watching some excellent lets play youtube videos and it really helped.

Now the hook of this game is that there is always just one more thing to do before you switch it off,, its one of them. It starts simple with just a basic grow and selling it on the street corner but then just splits off into all sorts of directions. Gonna list just a few, so you got staff to employ and manage, setting up new grows with business fronts to keep the police away, competing with rival dealers, investing in new equipment and new strains to improve your turnover and market base. Later on you can even create your own strains. Many different character interactions from friendship, doing favours and even blackmail as well as keeping your employees happy. A bit down the road you can also go down the legal route buying medical or recreational licences its up to you how you wanna play the game.

If you like the weed a lot of the strains and stuff will be familiar its really well done but if not its really is just a great business sim. Theres nothing like getting a big order and setting up a new hi tech grow to deal with it, and yes you can even smuggle you weed from city to city.

I really cant fit everything in here that this game offers but all I can say is don't give up the game doesn't really come it to its own till a bit later on once you get staff doing all the tedious work in the grows and you can get out there expand your empire and get rid of the competition.

Excellent game, sorry I was late to the party but im all in now and chilling.
