š®Gameplay:
If you have previously played We Were Here, then you already know what to anticipate from the game. Simple gameplay with escape rooms, nevertheless the beautifully created puzzles will torcher your brain to the maximum. Itās pretty much the same as the prequel, verbal communication and working together is the only way to complete the game.
Unlike the last game, you and your companion may select between the Lord and Peasant roles this time. The story centers on the other expeditioners you were separated from in We Were Here. The surviving find themselves in a significantly changed environment. One is confined in what feels like a royal court, while the other finds themselves in an abandoned tomb. Unlike the last game, when the Explorer was mostly responsible for solving the riddles, this time, the effort is evenly split. Both of you are the explorers as chambers unlock for both of you on completing a puzzle. Each area contains a new puzzle waiting for both of you, whether it be riddles with no time constraint that includes accomplishing something with symbols, or time-constrained puzzles where one of you will get crushed or roasted to death. The working together approach of the previous game is undoubtedly what you see in this part too. Doing anything on one end will trigger something on the other end also, therefore making voice communication a must-have. I did not find even a single puzzle that was taken from the prior game, thus it was absolutely a new experience. If you loved the prequel, then thereās no possibility you wonāt adore this masterpiece!
If you donāt have someone to play with, you may also play the game with random people using the server browser, but, it merely downgrades the gaming experience due to several variables. The other player can have already completed the game or they might leave the game. So, Iād only recommend playing it with a buddy, you are still free to test out the server browser, however.
š·Graphics:
The clayey textured visuals and calm music from the first part return. The royal court and the abandoned tomb scenario are well depicted utilizing the different things scattered all across the levels. It was a highly immersive experience since you donāt know what would happen at any point in time. The cursed castle is depicted in an even better style with more artifacts and much bigger chambers. Itās simply peaceful and scary at the same time, one of you may die any minute, yet solving problems in that castle isnāt as awful as youād suppose. It could be a matter of death and life for the Lord and the Peasant, but for me, it was a peaceful and fulfilling experience. If you compare the soundtracks with the last game, they are substantially more dramatic. Still, they reflect the gameās premise and improve the gameplay a lot. Both the clayey images and intense soundtracks are wonderfully made, making the problem solving even more entertaining.
šMain Pros and Cons:
Pros-
Unique and mind boggling puzzles.
Looks great visually, and has decent soundtracks.
One of the best co-op experiences.
Server browser available.
Simple gameplay with almost no difficult mechanics, yet it will be the most challenging game you ever played.
Cons-
Very less replayabilty.
š·ļøTips to new players:
Donāt depend too much on screenshots, since you can even manage to acquire a second playthrough with reversed roles if you finish it with solely voice communications. There is also a hidden ending in the game, so it also adds to the re-playability factor. If you are stuck anywhere, do try exploring the internet for a solution.
šHonest Rating:
Maintaining the same enjoyment level in the sequel of a game is a really hard task. But the developers have successfully managed to create another masterpiece. Iād definitely suggest getting the game even on base pricing, since itās one of the finest co-op experiences out there.
