Wartales: The Skelmar Invasion Review (F3ral H0und)
Just finished the DLC and this is definitely the best one Shiro has released for Wartales. My gripe with Belerion was that it was far too expansive and way too big of a leap for the game's design and pacing (despite still being entertaining enough), but the Skelmar Invasion hits the right marks. The sieges are fun and interesting, and there's not too many of them so that it gets stale really fast, the war mechanics and battle abilities are diverse and useful enough to make them not seem like an actual chore to get and use, and the overall storytelling and atmosphere of the region is good; you actually feel like you're in a war zone.
The Skelmar are a lot of fun to fight, the new weapons and armour are a breath of fresh air in terms of uniqueness and design, and the Crossbowman class is great (takes a while to get the ball rolling, but it becomes seriously OP late game).
Only wish there was a way to acquire war effort resources more easily instead of resting constantly or mindlessly pacing around looking for Skelmar patrols.
