not impressed.. This is what we call strategy now? MOBA Ass wanna be's? its sad. Honestly this game is very poor,right away upon starting you can tell that the AI pathing is clunky the combat feels incredibly off and once again we get rid of Base building unit building and so on in favor of a tower defense creep management game instead of actual strategy. This games trying to emulate dawn of war 2 and Company of Heroe's but failing to get done what those games did well. I wanted to Like this game Honest to The Gods I did but its not what we want. WHY do people keep on designing these shitty Moba likes with a Rock,Paper, Scissors triangle combat system instead of actual decent fun mechanical strategy games?
Give me Dawn of War 1 not Dawn of War 2 LET ME HAVE a game like Star craft again where you actually build a base manage the units and do things.. instead of this shit where its Buy hero units focus on leveling them protect towers capture towers/ victory points and fight. GOD i'm sick of this. IT CLEARLY didn't work with DAWN OF WAR 3 SO WHY ARE TRYING this shitty system again? I hate it. DO NOT BUY THIS FUCKING GAME at 60$ AT 11.99 or 14.99 if you get the ultimate edition you would almost think its almost not worth it but its something.. I'm so starved for a good RTS that when I see a game with the words real time action I gotta give it a shot.. only to end up disappointed. man I don't get whats so hard guys.
YOU HAVE THE IP you have the stories and lore NOW MAKE US A GOD Damn Strategy game worth something. Not this MOBA ESQUE hero Lane defense. a actual strategy game ONE WITH BASE building and unique faction game play and interesting play styles for each race.
This game merely only ends up being highly disappointing. arguably you can say this is 20X better than DoW 3 because there were no expectations or hopes to be crushed when this showed up. But it still isn't that great. Buy if its on sale if you really really like warhammer and are omega desperate for some kind of "strategy game." but do not buy this under any circumstance when its not on sale or if you're looking for a rts. because its not here. this isn't a real rts its a mimic wearing the skin of a rts but without any of the substance. very meh only buy if a fan of Warhammer AoS or its on sale other then that save your money skip this one when its not on sale. I cannot stress this enough. Game developers once again blew it with making a actual good game.. surprise surprise...
New note to add.. COMBAT LOCKING IS FUCKING STUPID. and is now one of the most hated mechanics I have ever seen to be implemented into a video game. I hate this I hate this game I thought I could get over some of THE FUCKING MULTIPLE other problems this game has but when I REALIZED that I couldn't micro a unit out of combat and only had the option of Die or retreat that really lit the last fucking Fuse, FUCK THIS GAME FUCK ITS DESIGN AND FUUUUCK COMBAT LOCKING.
