Wargroove 2 Review (Enton Main)
I like the game and also played through the first title. Obviously, the game stayed true to its charm, which ist very nice, however, that way it kept its predecessor's strenghts and weaknesses. Aside from mooving my units in a clever way, it feels like I can do barely anything to influence the outcome of fights with environmental advantages/disadvantages feeling extremely minor and some unit interactions (like soldier / archer and infantry) feeling kinda unfair. However, I am a huge fan of the new roguelike mode that lets you equip and customize your army in a typical roguelike manner. BUT: It feels incredibly unfair and unrefined... The encounters vary extremely in difficulty in a not foreseeable way and suddenly the next encounter features 12+ enemy units while your army consists of 5 units that are barely alive. If this new mode gets balanced, refined and more content, I can see myself and many other players have tons of fun with it!
I think that in its current state, the game does not offer a lot of new ideas / mechanics compared to Wargroove 1 which sadly results in a lot of slow-moving and long-drawn-out missions.
