Wargroove 2 Review (Amanita Minute)
I might play more, but finished the pirate storyline and I'm not impressed. 2 of the missions in that storyline have literally 0 combat (literally all dialogue), and all of the missions have too much yapping. Also extremely annoying to try and skip dialogue, as well at the initial tutorial. The gameplay is pretty similar to the first, but even if you start to get into it, lots of dialogue that makes you pause battling to get through, and the dialogue is NOT well written, campy at best. At least it didn't go the fire emblem route and only focus on the heroes.
If you thought Wargroove 1 didn't have enough dialog and was too hard, you might like this game. But I imagine the draw for most people playing this type of game is the gameplay loop that we miss from advance wars.
This game made me google and see that they do have an advance wars 1&2 remake, so I think I'll set this down and go pick that up for my switch. If you're looking for an AW clone, this is probably as close as you are going to get until Warside comes out, but I'd be hesitant to pick that up until some reviews are out.
