Vampire Survivors: Emergency Meeting Review (yorukumo)
I've done two thirty+ minute runs in the Emergency Meeting adventure mode, but it wasn't fun.
The weapons aren't like the other weapons you would usually see in the game, they are clunky to use and lose their charm almost immediately. Particularly the evolved weapons like the Wires and the Rocket Thrusters. At many points throughout the runs I would lose visual of my character and anywhere remotely near them during the peak of the thrusters, and the wires are just annoying, slow, lasting visual clutter. The most enjoyable weapons for me to use were the tongue and the hats, they felt like normal weapons you would expect to find.
Onto the little buddies you get, it's hard to tell their impact and what they actually do as they level up because of the nonexistence of a description past actually acquiring them. I do however, like the fact that they are used when evolving the various weapons, and I think it opens up how strong you can get later in the runs.
The first map in the adventure mode is also rather annoying to play. A lot of the enemies spawn like the candle holders in the other maps, they do not move until they are interacted with or you get close enough. It made the runs pretty boring and it felt like a chore to participate in the video game. The first map is also pretty enclosed and I would run out of enemies to fight because they were stuck on walls, forcing you to find a more open area for them to be any sort of dangerous or come in consistent waves.
I will likely complete the content that comes with this DLC because I enjoy the core gameplay mechanics of the game, but I think what this DLC provides is not particularly fun or what you would come to expect in Vampire Survivors.
