I rarely leave a review on Steam but this game...is totally life-changing. I'm a sucker for emotionally damaging games; however, this one just broke me beyond fixing. Nothing could have prepared me enough for the story and the amount of tears wasted. I am literally wasted from crying so badly.
This is a game about loss, grief, friendships, traumas, disasters, and dreams. If you're currently in dark places rn, PLEASE proceed with deep considerations and reach out for help.
The game is beautiful in many instances:
The story kicks off kinda slowly and many plots are placed as if the game is directionless; however, this is fully intentional. As the story goes on, everything becomes clearer and clearer, trust me, you have to see it to the end.
Each character is unique and full of emotions. The flow of conversations is natural and not forced nor rushed.
The total playtime is quite long, around 15-17hrs so please take a break whenever you need to.
The minigames are enjoyable; however, some of them lack proper hints, making the experience quite unpleasant, but that should not be a concern.
The art style and soundtracks are beautiful btw.
The game broke me forever. It's hard to explain but as I was playing it, I couldn't help feeling related to what the characters were going through; in other words, the game really hit home. At some point, it really shows how fragile our lives really are and we could lose someone at any time without a warning. One of my favorite impactful aspects of the game is its ability to convey regret. No matter what we do or wish for, we would never know if what we did was enough or if there'd be anything else we could have done.... the game really got me thinking.
Idk what else to say tbh. This is something you have to experience yourself and I believe my words are not enough to give this piece of art the recognition it deserves. However, to those out there who find themselves related to the story, and to those who are going through some dark times, I wish you all the peace you deserve. Although I don't know you, I believe you guys are the most beautiful people I've ever met and I hope you can have the strength to overcome...to live, and to be happy, again, and over again. I wholeheartedly believe in y'all.
