UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves Review (Nau)
very fun despite the lack of challenge, controls feel neat, graphics may look simple but the style as well as the music really helps to capture that 70s anime feel to it and there are some model clipping issues but that was expected. oddly enough the gameplay reminded me of a soulslike, except you are way faster, have lots of abilities to chain around, perfect dodges give a chance to do a retaliate ability, and there is a stamina tied to the abilities and healing, having a rechargable amount of healing means failing a fight is quite hard to do unless done on purpose. Every level is an open world stage where missions will occur around the map followed by a boss stage in its own area. the story is about 7 hours long, can be quite funny and cheesy at times. not sure about replayability, but abilities were not maxed out after the last boss. I did come into the game unsure of its quality, but i've only encountered 2 issues so far. frames does drop whenever there are those breakable stones later in the game and it refused to progress after tokyo tower attack, but I just restart it and no progress was lost (apparently I finished the fight before I was close to the tower enough to trigger the next scene). as a huge mecha fan, this game is something i never knew i needed. I will be hoping for the unholy baby of this game and the souls series. if you are a big old mecha anime fan, I highly recommend this game 100%.
