Tyranny: Tales from the Tiers Review (Ozpium)
Save your money
Please read Brian C. (The Schmaltzy Cynic)'s VERY thorough breakdown of this new DLC. While I understand why Brian still upvoted this, (because we all want more content for games we like) I'm going to have to disagree. I've played the game for hours and only had one new random encounter. While the extra dialogue is great, you have to understand that extra character dialogue is not something you should charge for. If they tied up some loose knots with the stories this would feel more like DLC and not just a patch they are making you pay for. Don't get me wrong, I still love this game, but unless this DLC gets cheaper then the 6 dollar sale it's on now I wouldn't recommend buying it. It's worth $1.99, that would have been more reasonable for this "Extra content" But, in the end I think the real problem is Tyranny (173,861 ± 12,438 Steam owners) didn't enjoy the same success Pillars did, (826,013 ± 27,090 Steam owners) despite it being a AWESOME game (and perhaps the best villain rpg ever) So it's probably never going to feel finished unless Bastard's wound DLC brings the game to a less abrupt ending. But if you really love this game or your extra money is just burning a hole in your pocket like me, then feel free to buy it. It's not bad, I just don't feel they added enough for it to be worth it.
TL;DR Buy the game, but skip on this DLC unless you wanted extra seemingly random (though perhaps not) road encounters. They are interesting kind of, but scripted like very short scripted advents in Pillars.)
