Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds Review (sam)
I've been eagerly awaiting a DLC for Two Point Museum practically since launch, and this one did not disappoint. They NAIL flavor and fun mechanics this expansion. The fantasy specialists work like DnD-like RPG players, with core stats that you can level when they level up, which is done by going on fantasy adventures. There's a really fun mix within the fantasy theme to create multiple styles of museums (my first exhibit area was a foresty fair/marketplace, my partner IMMEDIATELY built a huge sprawling maze of a dungeon with mini "adventures" for guests, there's enough meat for a dwarven-style forge or a traditional castle).
The arctic map, although it doesn't fully relate to the new theme, is a really fun take on a map, with unique building exteriors, some fun new items, interesting guest makeup, and unique challenges and a fun little story. At first I was kind of bummed we didn't see a fantasy map for the fantasy dlc, I actually found I quite like the arctic theme and map campaign, as it really made me explore an entire subset of museum exhibits I never really spent a lot of time with. The map also offers a fun challenge: it's totally doable for newer players, but it definitely shines as a later game map and you feel proud for understanding certain concepts better.
This DLC makes me so so excited for the future of Two Point Museum and the TP franchise. They keep getting better, and rather than DLCs feeling rushed or phoned in, they're always so imaginative and unique. Keep up the great work, Two Point team!!!!!
